چکیده

The electrocardiogram in Fig. 1 shows a sinus rhythm of approximately 60 beats/min with two widely separated Pwave components. This reflects significant atrial conduction delay. The first three beats in Fig. 2 are similar to Fig. 1 with two distinct components, as shown by an asterisk and arrow in Fig. 3. However, the fourth P-wave only consists of the initial deflection (marked by an asterisk). There is intermittent atrial conduction block that

Idiopathic atrial flutter, high grade atrioventricular block and sino-atrial dysrhythmia in a young man. Effects of exercise testing.

A 25-year-old man with idopathic atrial flutter and high grade atrioventricular (AV) block is described. Postcardioversion, sino-atrial (SA) and AV nodal dysrhythmias occurred. Treadmill exercise during atrial flutter increased AV conduction to 2:1, and normalized SA and AV nodal function following cardioversion. A neurogenic basis for these arrhythmias is hypothesized.

Mitral valve closure in atrial flutter.

12 patients who had atrial flutter without clinical, echocardiographic or angiographic evidence of aortic insufficiency were studied with simultaneous echo- and phonocardiograms. In patients with high-grade atrioventricular (AV) block, the mitral valve opened and closed with each flutter wave. Of seven patients, two had persistent and five had intermittent early mitral valve closure before QRS ...

The magnetic navigation system allows safety and high efficacy for ablation of arrhythmias

AIMS We aimed to evaluate the safety and long-term efficacy of the magnetic navigation system (MNS) in a large number of patients. The MNS has the potential for improving safety and efficacy based on atraumatic catheter design and superior navigation capabilities. METHODS AND RESULTS In this study, 610 consecutive patients underwent ablation. Patients were divided into two age- and sex-matche...

Coronary sinus reentrant tachycardia after atrial fibrillation ablation: From bad to worse

Herein we present a case of atrial tachycardia as a sequel of AF ablations. A 42-year-old man was admitted to our department because of a very symptomatic tachycardia. The patient, because of paroxysmal AF and typical atrial flutter, had been already submitted (three times) to ablation procedures in both left (pulmonary vein insulation) and right atria (cavo-tricuspidal isthmus). During the ele...

Atrioventricular block during radiofrequency catheter ablation of atrial flutter: incidence, mechanism, and clinical implications.

AIMS To evaluate the incidence, mechanism, and clinical implications of atrioventricular (AV) block during catheter radiofrequency (RF) ablation of the cavotricuspid isthmus (CTI). Although RF ablation of atrial flutter is the most frequently performed ablation procedure, data on the incidence and significance of an AV block occurring during the procedure are scarce. METHODS AND RESULTS Conse...
